The 120 m² big Visitor Center represents the “heart” of the GeoPark Carnic Alps.

In the Visitor Center in two hours the visitor can experience selected fossils and rocks, interactive animations, movie presentations, touchscreens and panels in specially designed exhibition rooms, covering 500 million years of Earth history.

 

 

Guided tours

Upon registration of at least 5 persons guided tours are possible!

We inform you about  500 million years  of Earth’s history of the Geopark, its uniqueness and its aesthetic landscape.

An interesting movie concludes the report.

Duration: About 1 hour.

Costs: See entrance fee 2016. – Groups are guided.

The Visitor Center offers

- Information

 

Hikers, tourists, geologically interested laymen and others receive information and are adviced about hiking trails, maps, fossil occurrences, etc.

 

- Travel through Earth's history

Touchscreens, films and several animations convey in aneasily understandable language Earth's history. Guided indoor and outdoor tours as well as school progammes are additional choices.

 

- Events and Activities

In the Visitor Center lectures about different Earth-science related topics are presented. Further information is provided under the link Events and Currnent Events, respectively, or we inform you in our Newsletter.

 

- Literature and Maps

We inform you about Earth science-related Literature, geological maps, Hiking descriptions, Geotrail Guide, etc.
